Porteño & Bailarina

A ladies practice shoe by Porteño & Bailarina - laced, closed dance shoe in the look of the 20s/30s. Due to the stable, not too high heel, this shoe is particularly suitable for women who alternately dance both roles. 50 mm heel, suede sole.

Why Alfonsina? - We remember Alfonsina Storni (1892 - 1932) - maybe not a tango poet, but she loved and sang it with friends. As a journalist and women rights activist, she was bold in her metaphor. She saw your time as sharp, satirical, sarcastic and socially critical, but never accusatory. She just wanted to draw attention to the grievances of your time. So she wrote "Danzón Porteño" in the year of her suicide (1938). In this tango she describes, almost as in an intimate dialogue between the narrator and the personified city of Buenos Aires, contradictions and misery on the other side of the beautiful city. She uses the bandoneon to describe the Puente Alsina sungen in many tangos, whose "Compas" dances a tango over the poisoned river between "ragged lights" and "crumbled cargo cranes". She was certainly referring to the misery of the poor immigrants who had to work in the factories, the extent of exploitation and the destruction of nature that Alfonsina loved so much. So get rid of the idea that life in Buenos Aires was only romantic at the time of the tango ... there was a very hard reality in Buenos Aires. Perhaps the tango helped to forget them for moments of embrace ...
